PSG have cancelled Real Madrid’s Club World Cup final clash with Chelsea.

This was one of the more one-sided Club World Cup matches after Bayern Munich beat Auckland City 10-0. Paris Saint-Germain demolished Real Madrid in the first half of the heavyweight semi-final.

It’s no surprise that Trent Alexander-Arnold is missing with a hamstring injury and Chelsea are watching from behind the sofa. PSG will now face Chelsea in the final on Sunday, with the winners claiming a £97m jackpot and a huge upset if Luis Enrique’s men don’t win.

Fabian Ruiz scored twice, but PSG’s pace and energy were enough to give Real Madrid’s new coach Xabi Alonso a clear view of the task ahead.

The French giants are not only the best team in Europe after winning the Champions League, they are also away to the best team in the world.

It was a joy to watch and there were warning signs, as Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois made an incredible save early on from Ousmane Dembele.

Six minutes later, Raul Asencio’s mistake was enough to send Dembele into the box, as Courtois pushed the ball past the defence, but Ruiz equalised to make it 1-0.

Three minutes later, Antonio Rudiger slipped and Dembele cleared the ball before slotting home his 35th goal of the season.

Achraf Hakimi turned on the turbo jets and Ruiz had time to pick his spot and score. It was 3-0 inside 24 minutes, with Ruiz having time to find his place and score.PSG substitute Goncalo Ramos scored from close range and performed a Diogo Jota-style tribute to his late Portuguese teammate.
